Vadar, (visionary, adapt, deluxe, active, rectify) by Jonty Blakely, has been on a mission for the last 3 years to offer sustainable alternatives that reflect a futuristic formal streetwear narrative. The 2023 Collection draws inspiration from the emotions and experiences I had within a specific time period. Translating them into fabric mainly through the use of the new logo. In areas where it appears two faces or more are looking at each other represent moments when I felt more conscious of my decisions and the effect they had in my life. Alternatively, areas, where the faces are looking away from each other, represent moments where I was less conscious of my decisions and the effect they had on my life. Each garment is sustainably considered from material and thread selection to end-of-life. As of 2023 Vadar is currently stocked in Oscottsworld in Christchurch and we also host an online website that opens up near drop times. We want to expand our products into other stockist stores throughout New Zealand and offshore. Collaborating with like-minded designers to create more ambience in the New Zealand streetwear scene.
