A team of fashion industry experts has chosen 25 finalists in the HITO Hot New Talent Competition, which will see a group of talented young kiwis get their chance to work at New Zealand’s biggest fashion event, New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW). The team of experts include; hair stylists Richard Kavanagh, Mana Dave and Rebecca Brent, makeup artists Pheonix Renata, Kristen Stewart and Samala Robinson and fashion stylists Sally-Ann Mullin, Sonia Greenslade and Lulu Wilcox.
The semi-finalists’ profiles are on the NZFW Facebook page, where friends, family and the general public are already busy voting for their favourites.
Voting closes on Monday 17th August and decides the top three in each category who will attend NZFW and work in their chosen discipline of Hair Stylist, Make Up Artist, Fashion Stylist and Male or Female model.
The final fifteen will be flown to Auckland to attend the 2015 NZFW Opening Launch on Monday 24th of August, where one winner in each of the five categories will be announced.
Each of the final fifteen will work at NZFW alongside professionals in their chosen field and will benefit from industry mentoring from one of the competition judges after NZFW.
The competition is all about giving young talent the opportunity to gain experience in their chosen career. HITO - the Hair and Beauty Industry Training Organisation, will work with finalists in the hair and make-up categories to pursue an apprenticeship in hair, beauty or barbering, if not already in one.
The five category winners will also be part of the new HITO Hot New Talent campaign shoot, which will be shot onsite during the week at NZ Fashion Week 2015.
