Kid Republic + SOCOCO Show 1:30 Sunday 30th August in The Runway
Likely to be packed with giggles, cuteness and possibly a tear or two, this is the show for very stylish littlies and their equally stylish parents.
“The SOCOCO runway show will be playful and energetic,” says co-founder Charlotte Hill, “just like the little athletes who wear it. Guests will be taken on a journey of our range to capture the mixing, matching, layering and individual strengths of SOCOCO pieces. Our designs are fun yet functional and while they're intended for sport they transcend so well to everyday wear.”
Hill and partner Kristy Austin are SOCOCO’s owners and designers and will be backstage managing the excitable models on the day! Why a kid's show at Fashion Week? “Everyone wants the best for their kids and it’s natural to feel that the way they look is an extension of the pride we have for them,” explains Hill. “We're here to show how kids can be dressed for their playful nature, but with style.”
Hill says guests will leave feeling inspired to keep kids active in premium New Zealand-made gear that’s “styley and versatile.”
Expect tiny fashionistas in three of Australasia’s top childrenswear designers - Minti, Munster and Rock Your Kid - when Kid Republic hit the runway, plus a range of special-occasion pieces for parties and weddings.
“We’re showing what’s fresh for kids this summer,” says KR co-founder Lisa Pomare, “plus great ideas for how to put the looks together so kids can feel cool but comfortable. It’s also a special opportunity to be the first to see ranges that aren’t available in store yet.”
